Southpaw Sip: No fall roundup of cocktails would be complete without at least one recipe that has some pumpkin spice in it. From The Vivant’s Top Ten: Fall Cocktail Roundup, Katie Tobin, bar manager at New Riff Distilling has developed something that is truly exciting, which goes above and beyond. While other bartenders may be satisfied with throwing in a little pumpkin puree or a shake or two of pumpkin pie spice, Katie has come up with what is now my new favorite pumpkin cocktail – the “Southpaw Sip.” Besides the New Riff bourbon as a foundation, it incorporates Lefthand Nitro Milk Stout, an absolutely and surprisingly wonderful companion to the bourbon which gives the entire cocktail a very nice aroma of roasted coffee and vanilla and some satisfying bubbles from the nitro.

- 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
