And all the while, wonderful pieces of high-fashion clothing and accessories were paraded in front of me! They were fabulous pieces I absolutely loved but would have never thought to pick out for myself.
Of course, I got to try on these outstanding outfits and spend as much time in the clothing as I wanted. I was never rushed. And, I was never pressured to buy anything. When you are at a high-end fashion apparel retailer, that’s not an issue. The personal shoppers are not salespeople, and are not paid based on how many items they sell. So there is no high-pressure sales tactics put on you. And if you don’t like an outfit or an accessory, it is no longer an option for your wardrobe. Simple as that.
Once I spent time with my personal shopper, I got to know her and she got to know me. It was clear that she loves her line of work and knows her stuff in her industry. That’s the personal shopper you want. Plus, she and I had a few laughs. I think we both had a good time. It wasn’t like she was waiting on me hand and foot. It had that feeling of a good friend who wants to make you feel comfortable, make sure you have a good time, who is in your corner and wants you to look your best – and there’s no judgment!
