His latest move has nothing to do with photography and everything to do with drinking up. Watts is launching a line of rosé wine in collaboration with Wine Awesomeness called Watts Up Rosé! The wine is premiering at party during Memorial Day Weekend at Navy Beach in the Hamptons. Bottoms up! We know what we’ll be drinking this summer.

Or the PR person behind the careers of models like Alessandra Ambrosio. Now the oh-so cool Brazilian expat has an oh-so cool new business–a line of bikes perfect for city streets called Martone Cycle Co.

“I was buying my second bike and I had moved apartments in New York, and I was putting the bikes in the living room,” Martone told WWD. “I’m like, ‘They don’t look good. There’s something wrong with this aesthetic.’ It’s too sporty, and I collect midcentury furniture, and it’s all wood and simple.”

Personally we are in love with the Gramercy bike in red. It also comes black, white, gold, and silver if you want to start matching your bike to your outfit. Something tells us that might just be Martone’s thought too.

Jonathan Adler really does seem to do it all. He is a home furnishings designer, potter, author, and interior designer, and therefore juggles the kind of hectic schedule that is hard to even imagine. His respite from it all? A Shelter Island home (off the coast of Sag Harbor in the Hamptons) that he shares with husband Simon Doonan. The waterfront home takes its cues from a mix of influences including Bohemian Big Sur, mod 1960s Palm Springs, and Ibiza. Architectural Digest shot the home last year, so lucky for you, you can actually get a peak inside (just try to resist the urge to throw out the entire contents of your home to start fresh after you do).

Needles to say, Adler is a true Hamptons power player. Luckily, the design mogul shared his favorite East End haunts with us, from his favorite spot for hikes to where he antiques.

1. Mashomack Preserve

“I love to hike at Mashomack Preserve on Shelter Island,” Adler shares. “Mashomack is the antidote to the Real Housewives-ization of the Hamptons. It’s beautiful, empty, peaceful—heaven on earth.”

79 South Ferry Road, Shelter Island.

2. Provisions

“My go-to joint for healthy fare and a blast-from-the-past health food bulletin board seeking new-age everything,” Adler says. “Stock up on spirulina, savor some sprouts, and snag a bottle of every supplement you could ever dream of.”

7 Main Street, Sag Harbor; provisionsnautralfoods.com.

3. Estia’s Little Kitchen

“I love to go there après hiking in Mashomack and guacamole my way through the squillions of calories I burned on my eleven mile hike,” Adler says.

1615 Bridgehampton Sag Harbor Turnpike, Sag Harbor; estiaslittlekitchen.com.

4. Marika’s Antiques

“A local vintage shop with incredible trouvées at incredible prices,” Adler shares of this Shelter Island antique shop. Expect a mix of finds from mid-century modern chairs to gilded mirrors.

6 South Ferry Road, Shelter Island; marikasantiques.com.

5. Vine Street Café

According to Adler: “Vine Street Café on Shelter Island is the best restaurant in the Hamptons. Period.” Everything the restaurant prepares is locally sourced, and the ice-cream is even made in-house!

41 South Ferry Road, Shelter Island; vinestreetcafe.com.

People do a lot of crazy things when they don’t get invited to high-profile events. Some beg PR people incessantly for invitations, others simply try to fly under the radar and sneak in, and then there are others who take it to a completely different level—like a man (pictured), who was apparently so bummed about missing the Cannes Film Festival and the fun soirees that go along with it that instead of suffering from fear of missing out like the rest of us, he decided to impersonate Korean musician Psy, best known for the painfully catchy “Gangnam Style” which has over 1.6 billion views on Youtube.

Clad in white pants, a blue blazer, and sunglasses that Psy regularly steps out in, this man was given the royal treatment. He attended a slew of parties, dined at the chic Martinez beach restaurant, and raged the night away at the Carlton Hotel. He even snuck into the Chopard bash, where “Skyfall” actress Naomie Harris posed for a picture with him which she put up on her Twitter. He also came up on tons of photo agency websites, labeled incorrectly as “Psy.”

The imposter Psy was even interviewed by France’s Radio Prestige and negotiated an upcoming appearance at the starry Better World Awards in Monaco. The faux Psy was traveling with a “manager” and a security detail, and even got free bottles of Cristal along the way.

Yesterday, the real Psy caught wind of the scam, and tweeted, “Seems like there’s another ME at cannes … say Hi to him.” So, sadly for the faux-Psy, his European fun must come to an end—but he certainly made the most of it while it lasted.

This makes us wonder—does this happen more than we even realize?! The next time you’re walking down the street and think you see a star, remember that it could simply be an imposter!

Photo via Twitter.

There is no better way to make a political statement than with a multi-million dollar party, right? Well, that’s exactly what the late Shah of Iran thought in 1971 when he celebrated the 2,500th anniversary of the founding of the Persian Empire. To make it known that Iran is a nation equal to others, the Shah threw the be-all-end-all Arabian nights party where Persian carpets, jewels, champagne, and royalty kings filled the scene. The budget had no limit, refreshments were flowing, and every detail was thought of and taken care of.

From the guest list to the entertainment, we’ve got the details so you’ll be prepared in case you ever decide to try to one-up this historic party.

Venue: Three enormous tents (more like mini-cities) and 59 smaller tents comprised the Shah’s “tent city” in Persepolis where the big bash took place. Keep in mind, guests of the party weren’t roughing it by any means. The interior design firm The House of Jansen, who helped Jackie Kennedy design the White House, made sure these tents were air-conditioned and they featured Baccarat crystal, Limoges china, Porthault linens, and intercoms.

Guest List: Perhaps one of the more eclectic guest lists in history, at this party it wouldn’t be a shock if to your right was a sultan and to your left was a president. Among the 500 lavish guests, Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, Princess Grace and Prince Rainier of Monaco, and Vice-President Spiro Agnew were among them. In total there were nine kings, five queens, sixteen presidents, and two sultans.

The Food: The Shah spared no dollar—or should we say Iranian rial—when it came to feeding his guests. 25,000 bottles of wine, 7,700 pounds of meat, 8,000 pounds of butter and cheese, and 1,000 pints of cream kept the 500-person guest list well-fed and buzzing. To ensure that he had the best of the best, the Shah flew in 165 chefs from Maxim’s of Paris who served up quail eggs and caviar, partridge with foie gras and truffle stuffing, and filet of sole stuffed with caviar.

Extra Amenities: Based on the fabulous roster, we’re certain most of partygoers arrived already quite well groomed, but in case anyone’s hair was out of place French hairdressers were made available and came with 300 wigs and 240 pounds of hairpins.

Fun Fact: Emperor Haile Selassie, who originally RSVP’d for himself and five others, arrived with seventy-two guests. Talk about rolling deep.

Cost: If you’re looking to replicate the Shah’s extravagant Arabian nights party, be sure you have a wide open desert at your disposal and some serious money on hand. The 2,500th Anniversary of the Peacock Throne is speculated to be the most expensive party in history. The Shah of Iran spent $90 million on the bash in 1971, which today is equal to over $516 million.

The annual CFDA awards ceremony is set to take place on June 3, and in anticipation the nine designers nominated for a Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent have all created objets d’art using Swarovski crystals. Our personal favorite from the collection? A Swarovski crystal encrusted Ducati Formula-1 racing helmut designed by Tim Coppens, which will be sold for $2,000.

The proceeds are benefitting Free Arts NYC, and will be available beginning May 21 at the boutique Fivestory in NYC.
