Salma Hayek's Alexander McQueen gown was glamorous enough as is, but she took the look to another level by wearing Cindy Chao's Maple Leaves choker in her updo.

Jennifer Garner, who was there to present and support husband Ben Affleck (producer and director of "Argo"), wore a whopping $2.5 million of Neil Lane jewelry, including this darkened platinum and diamond necklace.

Between the necklace and a stunning ring and bracelet, she wore a total of 200 carats.

Helen Hunt made one of the night's most memorable fashion statements in a navy dress from mass retailer H&M. Naturally, she kicked up the look with $700,000 of Martin Katz diamonds.

A glimpse at Hunt's stacked bracelets, proving that she really is a master of mixing high and low.

Jacki Weaver wore $2 million of Forevermark diamonds, which she humbly noted on the red carpet.

Sandra Bullock wore a $380,000 Harry Winston brooch in her hair, and let the Elie Saab gown shine on its own.

"The Impossible" nominee Naomi Watts wore 20-carat platinum and diamond drop earrings from Neil Lane.

Watts rounded out her look with this platinum and diamond bracelet, making the total cost of her baubles $1.5 million.

The most notable accessories on Kristen Stewart last night may have been her crutches, but she also had a slew of glamorous jewels to complement her Reem Acra gown. She wore a Fred Leighton 19th Century rose gold and old mine cut diamond riviere necklace and a rose gold and old mine diamond navette shaped ring circa 1900.

"Zero Dark Thirty" nominee Jessica Chastain hit a style hight note in her bronze Armani gown, paired with vintage Harry Winston diamond earrings.

Chastain's wrist was decked out in a vintage Harry Winston gold and diamond bracelet that was the perfect complement to the Armani Privé frock.

While much of the focus at last night’s Oscars was on the winners, Seth MacFarlane, and of course the glamorous red carpet gowns, we couldn’t keep our eyes off of the breathtaking jewelry that some of Hollywood’s chicest A-listers were wearing on the big night.

There was a lot of creative jewelry styling last night, with winners like Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence both opting to wear their expensive diamond necklaces backwards. Another big jewelry trend: both Salma Hayek and Sandra Bullock chose to wear incredibly pricey brooches as barrettes.

Ultimately, the bling was the star of the night, with every prestigious jewelry house from Tiffany & Co. to Chopard to Harry Winston being represented on the red carpet.

  1. Not at all a new concept. Have espied this, and more appropriate for a back scoop similar to the dress. I find Anne’s an untidy sight.
